Diabetic food grocery list is an effective and exhaustive guide which can help in going a long way in keeping a check on the diabetes disease. Although there are a lot of ways with the help of which patients can look for these lists, but it is always advisable to consult a dietician who will prepare a grocery list according to the patient’s body type.

Dieticians analyze the needs and requirements of the body by checking various parameters and devise a diabetic low carb diet plan which is ideally suited according to the patient’s body type. These diabetic diet foods help in providing the patients with optimum energy levels that are required by them to perform their day to day functions. These diet plans may vary according to the activity levels of the body as a person who leads a more sedate lifestyle would be required to be given a different diet routine when compared to people who lead a very active lifestyle.

Intake of good diabetic foods is very necessary in keeping a check on the disease. The most important aspect to be kept in mind is that there is exactly the correct amount of calories intake in a particular day. Ideally there isn’t much restriction on the kind of food intake that a patient takes in till the time the correct amounts of calories are being consumed.

Preparation of diabetic food grocery list in consultation with a dietician can help in highlighting the diabetic foods to avoid at all costs. This is analyzed by keeping in mind the extent of risk that the body has in attracting the disease and its activity levels. Apart from these there are typical food items which must be included in the diabetic diet foods list. Various kinds of food items which have healthy fat content, whole wheat healthy grains, food items high on protein content, fresh fruits and vegetables, should be included in the diabetic low carb diet. These will optimize the energy levels of the body to ensure that it has enough energy supply to perform the day routine functions.

Getting an exhaustive grocery list prepared in consultation with a dietician can provide the patient with a wide variety of food options to choose from. They do not have to worry about eating the same kind of food for a long time, which can become quite monotonous and boring. Alternatively it is more satisfying and motivating for the patients to stick to a diet plan if they have multiple food intake options available to them. The only thing that the patients should keep in mind is that they should devise a diabetic food grocery list which is specific to their body type and not something which is being copied from the internet or borrowed from a friend who has adopted it. This will help in controlling the risk of health related complications that the patients are more susceptible to.

If you are diagnosing as diabetic patients, it is important check up your blood sugar levels successfully. However, if you have a reading anywhere between 101 and 199 you will be diagnosed as a pre-diabetic. If your sugar levels have reached 200 or more, then this indicates that you are already diabetic. You should check for type 1 or type 2 Diabetes. Once you diagnosed as a diabetic, it is important to immediately go for your treatment. Still it is possible to effectively manage normal sugar levels when you’re a diabetic.

As a diabetic you may have to take the prescribed medicines, you may go for the choice of natural cure. Some medicines may produce side-effects if taken for a long period. However, with the natural methods there is no risk of side effects. When we talk on the natural cures, the following tips can be helpful for natural cure.

1. It is important to check regularly your sugar levels. This will allow you to known about the ideal quantity of insulin in your pancreas. This is the first step in regulating your diabetes.

2. You also need focus on the diabetes type. It is typical for a doctor also to diagnose and finalize the type of diabetes.

3. Afterwards, you can take the decision, whether to take the prescribed medication or go for the more natural cure. If the diabetologist has prescribed a lower dose of medicines, you may not have to worry too much on side-effects. Once you have achieved the normal blood sugar levels, the natural cure can be chosen.

4. It is important to categorize your food into six different groups is that foods vary in their carbohydrate, protein, fat, and calorie content. In our diet, bread is essential source of carbohydrates which provides energy, vitamins, minerals and fibers which help in maintaining blood sugar levels. Others sources are Beans, oats, barley and peas. As a whole grain takes longer time to digests these are among the wisest choice. Avoid Potatoes, Corn and Pasta as these are very rich in carbohydrates.

5. Taken regularly, herbs that contain powerful antioxidants can help reduce inflammation, which may lead to the development of type2 diabetes and is also implicated in heart disease, kidney problems, and other life threatening conditions.

Hence, being a vast choice of food in our day to day life we choose the best combination of minerals, vitamins, protein, carbohydrate and fats to regulate the effect of diabetes. Hence, it is important to find out what to eat and what not to eat for diabetes. Discuss taking herbs with your doctor and make sure to monitor your blood sugar levels regularly, when you factor herbs into your new active lifestyle and smart eating plan, you strengthen organ systems weakened by type 2 diabetes – and you just might be able to avoid taking blood sugar-lowering drugs.

Diabetes mellitus is a disease characterized by persistent hyperglycemia it is a metabolic disease caused due to the imbalance in the blood sugar level that requires medical diagnosis, treatment and immediate controlling with some precautions.

The primary reason for categorizing food into six different groups is that foods vary in their carbohydrate, protein, fat, and calorie content.
Starch/Bread List

Starch/Bread on an average contains fifteen grams of carbohydrate, three grams of protein, a trace of fat, and eighty calories. Wheat bread, whole grain, pasta, cereals are best examples.

Vegetable

Each vegetable serving contains about five grams of carbohydrate, two grams of protein, and twenty-five calories on an average. Cabbage, carrot, Fenugreek leaves, spinach, bitter melon are best examples.

Fruit

Most of the fruits provide fifteen grams of carbohydrate and sixty calories. Fruit juices are less preferred as the fiber contained is not utilized and hence glucose level is high. Examples apple, grapes, oranges, papaya are best among fruits.

Meat

Meat and substitutes usually contains seven grams of protein. You are preferably advised to consume more lean and medium-fat meat, poultry, and fish in your meal plan.

Herbs

Taken regularly, herbs that contain powerful antioxidants can help reduce inflammation, which may lead to the development of type2 diabetes and is also implicated in heart disease, kidney problems, and other life threatening conditions.

Diabetes in itself is not a disease but a malfunctioning of pancreas or inability to produce enough insulin required to process blood sugar. It can also be said as a metabolic disorder that affects the body in regulating blood sugar. Aside from more general approach diabetes has a natural cure and medical biological and physiological conditions of human body can actually sort and return back to the normal condition.

According to the inefficiency of body to produce insulin which processes the sugar in the blood, diabetes is bifurcated into two:

Type 1: This form is known as insulin dependent diabetes because in this form the diabetic person needs to have daily injections of insulin.

Type 2: This form is known as noninsulin-dependent. As it is slow onset and because it can usually be controlled with diet and oral medication.

The first step in curing the body from diabetes is to know whether the patient is suffering from diabetes TYPE 1 or 2. As we mentioned earlier in type 1 diabetes body not at all respond in producing insulin hence, it is can’t be reverse. While in type 2 diabetes the incapability of body to produce right balance of insulin can be reverse by the means of oral medication, diet, exercise, weight management, supplements or herbal treatment.

The key factors which can reverse the type 2 diabetes:

Diet: The simple rule is that – less carbohydrates lesser is the sugar. As there is a large spectrum of food products which favors the cure and visa-versa. Protein and fiber reach food are in the favor while access sugar and fatty products are against the rule.

Exercise: Workout on a regular basis with strict control over diet helps to burn extra calories. Few miles brisk walking, swimming and jogging are among the best exercises.

Herbs and natural remedies: Herbal remedies are there to treat diabetes the natural ways:-

A fenugreek compound, called 4-hydroxy-isoleucine, stimulated pancreatic insulin production in rats, and fenugreek seed reduced fasting blood sugar levels.

Gymnema: The herb has compound called gymnenin, which lessens your ability to taste sweets by monitoring blood sugar frequently. Stimulating insulin-making beta cells in the pancreas.

Cinnamon: This not only reduces blood sugar, but also lowers cholesterol and triglycerides

Foods to be avoided by a diabetic for reversing diabetes

Bananas are high in carbohydrates and should be avoided among fruits, sugar free juices should be taken, for example little bit of carrot juice is good

Alcohol & Caffeine should be avoided.

It’s always recommended that prior to any special activities you include in your program you need to be very clear with your physician as every body is different from other.

What causes diabetes? It is insulin and it is produced by beta cells in pancreas. You see, your body needs a certain amount of sugar to function properly, and it needs to be absorbed by your cells to give you energy – which is where the insulin comes in. The insulin assures your body cells absorb the sugar from your blood. When the amount of insulin produced in pancreas is not enough to absorb sugar in blood or more complicated its secretion stops this type of disorder in the human body is called diabetes in medical terms.

Diabetes can be further categories on the basis of body‘s incapability of not producing Insulin. Type 1: This form is known as insulin dependent diabetes because in this form the diabetic person needs to have daily injections of insulin. Type 2: This form is known as noninsulin-dependent. As it is slow onset and because it can usually be controlled with diet and oral medication.

Let’s have glance on the food habits preferred:

Diabetics usually ask to there physicians; Is it ok with them to consume large quantity of fruits? As a large percentage of people suffering from diabetes either avoids eating fruits or eat very less due to the worries related high sugar content in most fruits. But its natures beauty that blood glucose levels remains ineffective from many fresh fruits.

Good Fruits for Diabetics

As we know fiber rich fruits are generally safe for diabetics to be eaten as they have low glycemic index (GI) and hence do not raise the diabetes sugar level to a higher level as that of fruits with high GI. Fiber has this property to slow down the absorption of sugar into the blood stream. Fruit with edible skin and seeds as such parts are rich in fiber content. Fruits with high fiber content are shown below:

      apples (2.3%) apricots (2.1%) blueberries (8.4%) kiwifruit (2.1%) pomegranates (3.4%)

Fruits high in fructose, and those with high fructose to glucose ratios are also beneficial to diabetics because fructose does not require insulin to metabolize and therefore can be enjoyed by insulin resistant diabetics. apples, pears, guavas and mangoes, – all of which have fructose to glucose ratios

Apple as a edible skin fruit has high fiber content and fructose level in addition raw apple contains high amount of pectin which improves glycemic control in diabetes by reducing need of insulin up to 50%. Grave fruit can also be beneficial for diabetics as it reduce insulin resistance by promoting weight loss when consumed during meals.

Bad Fruits For Diabetics

As most of the fruits contain high glucose content hence need to be taken in small amount to control blood sugar levels as a part of healthy diabetic meal. Example of high sugar fruits are bananas, dates, grapes, water melon and pineapple.

In case of fruit juices the pulpy fibrous part of the fruit is very low hence resulting in high sugar content which should be avoided. Processed fruit juices also contained added sugar and sweeteners more than a carbonated soda which makes them unfit to be consumed by a diabetic.

Canned fruit also tend to be very rich in sugar due to the syrup and therefore should be consumed moderately or drained syrup. Dried fruits comparatively fresh fruits contain higher sugar content.
